Operating expenses for the Harford Volunteer Fire Company are derived from various sources. Each of the three townships that depend on us for fire protection contributes tax monies to the department. These taxes make up the greatest percentage of our operating budget. Chicken bar-b-ques during the month of February and during Harford Fair Week in August provide additional funding; along with dinners, breakfasts, hall rentals, and raffles. Two fund drive mailings occur each year - one in the spring for ambulance operations and another in the fall for fire operations. Income from ambulance billing also provides financial support.
